What were your experiences with the lab?

the frog disection was pretty cool but really nasty.th nastiest part was cutting the legs off

    Zack G. (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:10 PM

The lab was a very good experience for all of us. it got me prepered for bigger disections i might have to do in the future.

    Kayla Hill (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:11 PM

well i thought that the lab/disection was fun it was funny when i stabbed the frog but it was nasty
when i tried to cutt the chest opnen becasue it was hard and it was just disgusting but it was funn
at some parts. i thought that it was going to be worse than what it really was though.i would have
rather disected soemthing else bu the frog was ery muscular and had strong bones it looked like.

When we did da lab i knew that i could not take it when i saw the frog. The frog was not dat big but it was long.I was already not feeling good so seeing the frog made it worst. But when Berry cut the frog skin i was bout to throw up so i left and missed all the nasty stuff.THANK GOD!!!!!!!!lol

The lab was very exciting. It was cool that we got to see what the frog ate. Mine had a fly inside it.
It was also odd because the heart was so small. I guess the size of the organs depends on the size of
    the organism.

    Caleb S.☺☻ (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:14 PM

Everyone was right disecting a frog was disgusting! I thought it wouldnt be that bad but...it was horrible. It was very cool though. It was of course my first disection. Theresa first thing for everything! We had a girl frog so we had to remove all the black eggs it was really nasty. removing the organs wasnt too bad. But overall it was pretty fun to disect a frog.

the organs was really nasty but its part of the
systems and cuttin the skin was nasty but itds part of the intugemtry

    edmond (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:15 PM

The lab last last friday was very very cool. The frog was kinda nasty but it was standable.
I was surprised by how much alike the human system was with the frog siystem. I can now see why
we use frogs during this study. The heart in the circulatory system was very small. I was reallly
surprised at how much the organs were just like the picture of human organs in the txt book
in class. taking out the fat out of the frog was discusting, but cool at the same time. The skin was
very similar to the human skin and i was surprised and happy that the muscles were too. Even though
our frog wasn't that big it was fun all in all.:)

    Candace-Paige (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:16 PM

The frog disection was a very nasty but fun experience and i think everyone would agree with me.
Kayla was my partner and we laughed at a lot but almost threw up too. When we had to first touch
the frog it was very gross but then we got used to it. The systems were very close to the human
body systems and that is why i think we had to disect these frogs.I think that it was a very funn
science experience. It really helped me understand the muscles, skin, and all the other organs.
I don't think it could have been more fun. When you follow all of the directions and actually listen
*cough* then things are much more enjoyable and fun. : )

    Rebekah T. (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:16 PM

I was totally amazed at how the frog had very similar systems to us. The liver was huge but the heart was small. I couldnt find the lungs in my frog. It was hard to find the bladder because it was so small. My partner was grossed out by the frog more than i was. i didnt think that it was possible. the frog stank a lot and for the first part of the dissection i felt like i was going to throw up. When i cut open the stomach, there wasnt anything there, which is a very good thing because if there would have been a bug then i probably would have thrown up. it was really gross to cute open a little frog. it only have one little fat body thing. :( it was like you were killing it.

    Jessica Prevette (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:17 PM

The frog disection was pretty cool, i didn't think it was even that nasty.
It could have been way worse than it was. Our stomach was boring, it had
nothing at all in it. :) The heart busted and the lungs were just really thin
bags. Inside of the frog was hard to tell what was what. Everything was mixed
together and so close. I couldn't tell which system was which with everything
clumped together :) I wish we would have had extra time to do the whole
disection so that we could have got to disect the head and see the brain. The
disection helped me sorta to see how the organs are arranged to complete the
systems even though everything was hard to see, but it was better when we pulled
everything out. We had to be careful not to cut something we were not suppose to.
I don't see how the respitory system in a frog is done, because the lungs of a
frog just look like a thin flap, but i guess if we were to see how oxygen goes into
them it would help me. That's just me though, aint that smart! :) Well i don't know
what else to say and i really don't know what i even said but yepp im gonna go do
    something else now! :P

In the lab last friday I saw the systems of the frog.
They are supposed to be very similar to the human systems.I thought the digestive system was the
most like the human system. It had the esophagas, same as a human, the stomach, same,
large and small intestines, just as a human. It was like a minature human.

    Zack G (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:17 PM

durring the disection we got to see most of the systems in the body. the systems i seen were the digestive, skin, respiratory, and circulatory systems. since i seen all of the different systems that the human body has i understand it more.

    patrick curry (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:17 PM

i found the frog dissection amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was amazing because we have been learning about
the body systems and it made it 10 times cooler then it would have the body systems were circulatory
system, the skeltal system, integumentary syatem, musclar system, and digestive system.
my partrner was afraid of the frog just kidding and it was cool but sad thet the frog died so young

    Alissa S. (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:18 PM

The frog dissection was a learning experience. It was very interesting and showed how all the body systems worked together. The heart was extremely small and came out when I was cutting out the liver. The way the liver looked surprised me as well as the small intestines. The stomach that came out of the frog was an example of a perfect stomach. It was empty, but had the perfect muscles to move the food down. the skin was very thin and the muscle was a bit thicker. It became harder to cut as I got to the neck. The size of the tongue surprised me because I thought it would be a lot larger. The frog dissection was not bad at all.

Well, My Partner Was Zach Green. We Got A Male Frog. It Was Pretty Fun Getting To Cut The Body Open And Getting To See Everything On The Inside.
But, When We Cut The Livers Out, We Got To See Way More Stuff. We Couldn't Exactly See/Find The Heart, But That Is Okay. Cause I Really Didn't Care.
It Was Really Cool That When We Cut The Stomach Open, There Was Something In The Stomach. There Was Like, Hair, And That Means That It Had To Have Eaten A
Mammal Of Some Sort, Which I Could Never Picture A FROG Eating.
I Nocticed The Whole Digestion System, And Saw Where It Was Located In The Body.
Mr. Saunders Cut The Tongue Out, Which Was Extremley Disgusting. It Was Like, Hard And White. Ughhhh >_<
But, I Saw The Skin System, Too, Because We Had To Cut That Open. The Muscular System Was In That Too, Because We Had To Cut Through That To Get to All The Organs.
It Was Fun To Get To Cut Everything Out Of The Frog. Now I Know Where Things Are In Our Body, If We Are That Similar Related To Frogs.
Over All, I Think That This Was A Great Learning Experince, And Many People Have Probably Benifited From This :DDD
I Don't Ever Want To Touch A Frog After This Again, Cause I'd Feel Bad, Or Maybe I Would, I Do Not Know, Ahaha (:

The frog disection, was very interesting and fun learning expierience. I really liked it and I have to say that I learned alot about what many of our organs look like. The heart in the circulatory system was extremely small. Another thing that really caught me by suprise, was the way the liver and the small intestines lokked. When I cut out the frog's stomach, it really suprised me. When I cut the stomach open however, it suprised me even more. Inside my frog's stomach, there were many pieces of a beetle. The skin of my frog was very thin and the muscles were pretty hard to cut through. It became much harder to cut through the muscles than it was to cut through the skin. The tongue of the frog, was pretty cool. The size of it's tongue really amazed me. The frog disection lab was very cool. I really enjoyed and I learned a tremendous amount!!

The frog lab was very interesting!
    Barry was my partner !
It was not bad at all!
we saw many systems of the the frog's body !
it was cool to see all the systems we had talked about this year.
The skin was soft and moist.
It had a blackish greenish color to it.
Although we didnt get to see any blood, we got to see the heart, which is part of the circulatory system !
When we opened up the frog, we saw the lungs.
We found out we had a boy frog, it had no eggs.
We cut out the tongue too :] (Dont worry its dead, it cant feel anything !)
When we opened up the tummy it had bettles in it.
    There were a lot.
It was cool to look at all its insides and see what all they did !
This was overall a really cool experiment and i cant wait to do more interesting things !

Well, for the frog lab my partener was Rachel. We had a female frog, which was full of eggs. Mr.
Saunders said that we had the most eggs that he has ever seen. I thought it was very nasty. There
was way to many eggs for me to even begin to count. Ughhhhhhh. The frog is very similar to the human
body. The skin protected the frog from danger. Even though ours does that too, the frog felt very nasty!
Another system that we saw was the reproduction system. The reason I know this is because our frog was
full of eggs. We also observed the digestive system. In the stomach of the frog we saw a bug of some sort.
ughhhh. That's just plain ou nasty. Overall, I can't stand animals so, I did't really like this lab. I mean
true it did allow you to see the organs of a creature but, I don't really like looking at the frog.

    jessicaw (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:21 PM

I thought that it was sorta fun, nastey, and groose. What i thouhgt about their organs
was it was nastey and grose and i didnt even do the stuff.

    ♥Paige G.♥ (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:22 PM

I think that the frog lab was actually not that bad. It took us longer because we had a girl frog. It was kinda gross at times, but not exactly horrible like i thought it would be. The eggs in the frog had a black coloring to them. They were hard to get out of the body as well. The organs were a very dull color overall. When i had to pull back the skin it started making a really weird sound. It was so GROSS!!! The heart was actually pretty cool to look at though. All the organs were pretty cool to look at to a sertant point during the lab. During this lab I thought it was a great learning experiance. Even though it was kinda gross. I don't think i would want to do it again though, but it wasn't to horrible. :)

The frog disection experience is like amazing and scary. The heart pumps blood through the body while
the lungs gives O2 and take CO2 in and out of the blood. The frog's mouth, stomach, and intestinse digests
the food it eats and give it everlasting energy.

    zack g. (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:24 PM

the digestive system reminded me of dry spagetti noodles

    rachel m (unauthenticated)Apr 13, 2009 1:24 PM

the skin was the first organ and system[integumentary] we saw when we got the frog. then,
when we cut open the skin, we saw the second system, the muscular system. after we got through the muscle,
we saw the third and the fourth systems, the digestive and the respiratory systems. we examined the these two system and cut open the stomach to see the inside to tell what the frog ate before it died. at this point or time with the frogs ran out

THE FROG DISECTION WAZ AWESOME. MY PARTENER WAZ SHARELL AND ALEX. WE CUT THE FROG OPEN AND THE WATER FROM THE FRO JUST OWZED OUT. THE ORGANS THAT WE OBSERVED WERE THE HEART,LUNGS,STOMACH,AND THE LIVER. WAT WE THOUHGT WAZ THE MOST INTERESTING ABOUT THIS DISECTION WAS THE WAY THE LIVER WAZ SEPERATED INTO THREE DIFFERENT PARTS. ONCE WE GOT PAST THE LIVER WE CAME TO THE HEART WHICH WAZ COVERD BY THE LIVER. THE HEART WAZ SO SMALL, THAT I COULD HAVE MISTAKEN IT FOR A PEE.WHEN WE STARTED CUTING OPEN THE FROG SHERALL STARTED TO GET A LITTLE SICK. SO SHE HAD TO LEAVE THE ROOM.I THOUGHT THAT IT WAZ COOL THE WAY YOU COUULD TAKE A NEEDLE AND STAB IT THREW THE NOSE. WHEN WE WERE THREW, WE CUT UP THE FROG INTO LITTLE PEICES AND CUT HIS LEG OFF. THIS EXPERIANCE WAZ SO AWESOME, IF I HAD A CHOOSE TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD DO IT.=)
