Now that you have completed the frog dissection, reflect on what you
learned. What did you find interesting? Did anything surprise you? What
did you learn? What more would you like to know about the frog or body
systems?
I learned that the frog's systems and organs are much like a humans.i would like to know if there are animals that do not have any of these organs.
KeyesC (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:32 AM
The stomach felt like shrimp. The organs were harder to remove than I thought. A frog has a lot of similar organs. Why do the frog s have fewer organs?
Tyler P (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:33 AM
I learned that a frogs tounge is attached in the front instead of the back. It was interesting to look inside of an actual organism. I learned about what the bodys systems look like inside the body. I would like to know more about the nervous systems.
Colton P (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:33 AM
I found that the skin was extremly thin and that the digestive system was extremly large. The food that the frog ate was very surprising.I learned that frogs are ripped with abs. Can frogs get scoliosis?
Amber C. (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:33 AM
I learned that all the system are connected to each other in the body. I found that the nostrils are connected to the outside of the mouth and to the inside of the mouth. Also, the frog has a nictating membrane over the eye.
Colan J (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:33 AM
I learned that the body systems are alike. Also, i learned that a frogs tounge is attached at the front of its mouth.I would like to learn more about how they work when the animal or human is alive.
James T (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:34 AM
Something that I felt was intresting is that the stomach felt like rubber. The only thaing that suprizied was how the frog actually felt. In doing the disection I learnd all the thaings that are in a frog and how they compared to us.
susan c (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:35 AM
I didnt think it was interesting becouse i didnt like the fact that they were dead and that we had to cut then open.Than we had to take everything out of them,Thats just wrong to me.It surprised me that he didnt he didnt have a last have a last meal.I learned that frogs have very small stomach.I learned everything I wanted to know, and more than I really want to know.
Doug C. (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:38 AM
The frog dissection was pretty cool. I found out frogs and humans have close to the same anatomy. Nothing was really surprising in the dissection. It would be cool to learn about more diseases that effect animals and other things.
justin m (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:38 AM
I learned alot about the frogs organs and what there body system was.It turns out that they have alot of organs that we do like there digestive system they had large intestan and small intestin, also a stoumach. The frogs all had a protection over there body and a ribcage just like us.
Erica G (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:40 AM
In the Frog Dissection lab I learned many things about the frog body and how it works. So, I am going to tell you something that I found interesting. I of the most interesting things I learned would have to be that the frog's touge is attached to the front of the mouth, while the human's touge is attached to the back of the mouth. I always woundered why the frog could reach insects far away from it, and now I know just why that is. I liked the frog dissection, but the fact that people killed these frogs just for dissection of middle schoolers. I would like to know every thing about frogs. I hope that all the other kids that do this frog dissection enjoy it, I know I did.
Coleten S (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:40 AM
I found that a frog doesn't have any ribs. This was extremly surprising because the skin is so thin. I am curious if a frog can choke on it's own tounge? Also, do frogs have fewer organs in each system then other organisms?
Cassie S (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:40 AM
I found that the fact that frogs have 3 sets of liver was interesting. Yes, some things did surprise me, When we looked in the stomach to see what the frog had eaten, there was hair in there, it was quite gross actually. I learned that underneath your skin, there are so many things that are working together to keep you alive and standing. Getting a look made me think well about what i need to do to keep myself alive. I have learned almost all that i need to know, there was much that i questioned about before the lab, but the lab did teach me all that i needed to know about the human body and the frog body. Thank you for taking your time to read this.
dustin k. (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:40 AM
i learned that the frogs body systems are very simmilar to the humans body systems. I found that the organs in the frogs body was greatly decreased in size compared to the humans organs. In this dissection i found nothing to surprise me because i like do stuff like dissecting animals. The things i would like to know more about the frog is the bones and how they are joined together to make the frog hop/jump so far. I would also like to know how frogs are different from toads and how they are alike.
Jewel J (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:41 AM
The frog disection was descusting but very interesting. when we got the frog cut open all we could see was the frogs eggs indicating that are frog was a female. inside the frog we could see the stomach, small and large intestines, heart, liver, and more. when we got the stomach out the frog cut it open and revealed about 3 centipeds and about 1 or 2 beetles. so i guess out of that whole gross adspereance i learned where all the organs and organ systems where stored.
SaraG (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:43 AM
I have learned how frogs are like humans through having the same body systems. When I looked at the small intestine I found it very interesting and surprising that something that big can fit in that little frog's body. I have learned everything that I wanted to know, I did have some concerns and questions before the lab, but I got those answers during and after the lab.
JamieH. (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:43 AM
I think that it is interesting how the frog can use its eyes to move food that is to larg for the tounge to move by itsself. The size of the frog suprised me. I would like to know why the frog seems to have so few bones.
Saturn C (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:50 AM
Disecting the frog really wasn't that bad. It wasn't nasty or anything. It was actually pretty cool! Frogs really are a lot like huans. They have almost all the same organs as humans. Nothing really suprised me. I learned a lot about how the body systems work (alone and together).

I thought that the frog dissection was very interesting. It surprised me when I found a whole beetle in its stomach!!! I learned that the frogs body was almost the same. I would like to know how a frog can strech his tonge out to catch food. :-)
ashley b (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:54 AM
in the frog dissection i lurned were the body sytems are and how they worked.what i found interesting was that the frog has three livers.the dissection was not as bad as i thought it would be.the dissection really helped me understand how our body system work together.why are the frogs ears flat and not like ours?
cole M (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 10:58 AM
I thought it was very interesting to have to dissect a frog. The amount of juice in the frog surprised me. I learned that the homology of the frog and human are close. I would like to know about its brain and if it is similiar to ours.
Zach H (unauthenticated)Apr 3, 2009 11:00 AM
This frog disection was very fun and not only that, this lab was also very educational. The lab was very educational because you go to get up close and view the frog inside and out.The frogs external features where very different from humans in many ways including, there texture(feeling of thier skin),the color of thier skin, there leg muscles, thier arm muscles and also there mouth and nose. The internal organs however are simular in many ways including the shape of the organs, the color of the organs and also the fuction of the organs. So as you can see this experament was very helpfull because it allowed you to get up close and actually see the frogs organs for real and not in a picture so that you get a better idea about it and helps you understand better,so that i swhy this experament is educational and fun at the same time.I had fun while doing it and i learned something also.
